JOB, A RIGHTEOUS MAN IN THE EAST.
Verdict hearing took a full day at Job’s legal battle with the academy.
The scroll so heavy had me leaning like the tower of Pisa. I too have drunk the foaming blood of the grapes, but Jeshurun staggers from another suspect consumption. Could be Pork intestines (Read BS).
Job is the only man ever to have demanded that God answer him in writing. Signing away his harvest.
No man was ever found this selfless on earth. What more can a mortal man give?
God himself and his son when he descended as Elihu hand Job the written response to his demand letter on account of Job being more right than the angel of God (Both were right at the conclusion of the petition).
The book of Job concerns a very bitter man who has a Messiah status claim before God.
A very very rich man who in both heaven and earth tries to disprove a section of the law,
‘It will be easier for a camel to go through the eye of the needle than it will be for a rich man to enter heaven.’
Expectedly the whole law was misinterpreted into heaven being denied to the rich.
The pharisees sold this yeast to profit monetarily from rich fools.
The wise rich man perceives himself first in charity.
You will not strive with the rich man giving offerings to the Almighty.
But here’s a teaching,
Prayer is more efficacious than offerings, as it is written, To what purpose is the
multitude of your sacrifices unto Me.
Fasting is more efficacious than charity. What is the reason? One is
performed with a man's money, the other with his body.
But since Job claims righteousness above all these, including an angel’s direct account of his failure. The [angel] Eliphaz the Temanite goes,
You demanded security from your brothers for no reason;
You stripped men of their clothing leaving them naked;
You gave no water to the weary and you withheld food from the hungry (Though you were a powerful man, owning land, an honored man living on it);
You sent away widows empty handed,
You broke the strength of orphans.
He informs Job that submitting to God and being at peace with him is the path.
‘Then the Almighty will be your gold, the choicest silver for you’
But Job counters with argument that God has an evil decree against him that is just beginning to fulfill.
‘he carries out his decree against me, and many such plans he still has in store’
‘if only I knew where to find him, if only I could go to his dwellin’
‘but if I go to the east he is not there, if I go to the west, I do not find him’
Job is frustrated that he is unable to enter heaven counting his good deeds trusting himself to argue his case rather than a sent mediator, an angel who should find a ransom for him.
Wrongfully insisting God is his oppressor, he steps further challenging God to a written indictment. Even stating,
‘I would give him an account of my every step, like a prince I would approach him’
Remember this is a challenge to the angel too whose account is from God. The most efficient of accountants.
And the son of God himself, Jesus Christ, a man of wisdom, stands to answer him, the youngest member of them all (This teaches God is both younger & older than men).
Simply telling them none had proved Job wrong.
Elihu says ‘but you have said in my hearing, I heard the very words, I am pure and without sin’ anything beyond which is empty talk, described as multiplying words without knowledge.
Further saying ‘the ear tests words as the tongue tastes food’
[the Christ] Elihu confirms to be able to converse with the unseen by saying,
‘wise men who hear me say to me, Job speaks without knowledge, his words lacking insight’
In asking that hearers bear with him, son of God himself in the person of Elihu says to them,
‘I get my knowledge from afar, I will ascribe justice to my Maker, be assured that my words are not false, one perfect in knowledge is with you’
Job should have been old enough to understand the fall of Adam had compelled the nature of all men to the first death, for the second living in both the unseen (Hereafter) & seen realms. Man was confined to the seen realm then UNTIL the coming of the son of man, the only written to be pure and without sin.
This is a rite of passage equally synonymous with the importance of ‘circumcision’ to the Israelites. Circumcision here in our school means separating the unnecessary from the necessary.
But Job’s argument that at his time it had yet to be revealed by the prophets of the coming son of man was found plausible.
So the wise congregation offers legal counsel, quoting from the same who only is pure and without sin.
It is written, ‘Before Abraham came to be, I AM’.
Job rests the matter & is admitted into the academy of the sky where a lot is instantly revealed to him when God shows him his final anointed two servants serving him for ever.
